Who Gets To Go To Heaven?  What About Babies?

Only Those Who Are Written In The Lamb's Book of Life.

Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

The only people who can enter into heaven are those who have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life enter into heaven and those whose names are not in the book of life are cast into the lake of fire.

That is the only two choices. There is not a third option. You are either in the book or you are not and based on that you either go to heaven or the lake of fire.

There is only two options you’re name is in the book or it is not. And there are only two possible outcomes. Heaven or hell. That’s it. There are no second chances and there is no purgatory.

How do I get my name written in the Lamb’s book of life?

Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Joh 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Those who believe on Jesus get everlasting life. Only those people who with a repentant heart believe on Jesus and call upon Him have everlasting life.

Those who have their name written in the Lamb’s book of life get everlasting life.

The conclusion should be obvious. Your name gets written in the Lamb’s book of life only if you get saved.

What About Babies?

The question then becomes what about babies. The Bible does not have a lot to say about it. The Bible does not come right out and in one verse tell us. But the Bible does teach what happens to babies. We just have to use a little reason and put it together.

The first thing that we have to know is was King David Saved.

Act 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the [son] of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

You cannot reject God and be a man after God’s own heart.

2Sa 23:1 Now these [be] the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man [who was] raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2Sa 23:2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word [was] in my tongue.

David was raised up on high. David was the anointed of God. And the Spirit of the Lord used David to speak His word.

2Sa 22:2 And he said, The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

2Sa 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: [he is] my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

David put his trust in the Lord. King David was Saved.

1Ki 2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

These verses indicate that when David died he went to dwell in the house of the Lord, which is heaven. And that David went there forever. David went there to spend eternity.

When David died he went to Heaven.

David and Bathsheba had a baby that died.

2Sa 12:18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?

2Sa 12:19 But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.

2Sa 12:20 Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed [himself], and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

2Sa 12:21 Then said his servants unto him, What thing [is] this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, [while it was] alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.

2Sa 12:22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell [whether] GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?

2Sa 12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Speaking of the baby David said I shall go to him.

David was saved and went to heaven. If David is going to the baby, then the baby had to go to heaven.

This is the Bible proof that little ones are safe in Jesus and will go to heaven should they die. It is sad that so many people will have their babies sprinkled because they have been taught to fear dying unbaptized.

A child will go to heaven if they die before they reach what we term the Age of Accountability.

The Age of Accountability is a non Biblical term used to express the Bible teaching that a child is safe in Jesus until he reaches and age of understanding.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You have to believe to have everlasting life. A baby is not capable of believing. As soon as the child grows to the point where he is capable of believing and making a decision then he is no longer safe in Jesus and needs to get saved.

There is no set age for this age of accountability. It comes at different ages for different children. Children grow and mature at different rates.

The bible does indicate that this age does come to every child.

Deu 1:39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.

The little ones who had no knowledge between good and evil were not held accountable.

Eze 12:2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they [are] a rebellious house.

In Ezekiel they are held accountable and called a rebellious house because they have eyes to see and hears to hear but they choose not to.

The plan of salvation is really simple. Our Pastor understood and got saved at 7 years old. I have heard of people who have gotten saved even younger.

Jesus welcomes little children and He taught the necessity of child like faith.

Mar 10:13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and [his] disciples rebuked those that brought [them].

Mar 10:14 But when Jesus saw [it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

The plan of salvation is simple and it only takes a child like faith to enter. No theological degree necessary. And aren’t you glad.

Only two groups of people will get into heaven. Those who believe and put their faith in Christ or those who are not capable of having child like faith.
