Question to Mormons: Who came first God or Man?
Joseph Smith said that “First God Himself, who sits enthroned in yonder heaven, is a man like unto one of yourselves, that is the great secret”. He also said “God himself; the Father of us all dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ himself did, …You have go to learn how to be gods yourselves”
Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt said, “The Gods who dwell in Heaven…have been redeemed from the grave in a world which existed before the foundations of this earth were laid. They and the Heavenly body which they now inhabit were once in a fallen state…they were exalted also, from fallen men to Celestial Gods to inhabit their heaven forever and ever.” He also said “We (men on earth) were begotten by our father in heaven: the person of our Father in Heaven was begotten on a previous heavenly world by his father; and again, He was begotten by a still more ancient father; and so on.”
According to the Mormon Church, the god of earth is an exalted man of flesh and bone. Through eternal progression this once man, was somehow found worthy in the Celestial heaven, was made a god and given the earth to rule.
So who came first God or man?
If you answer the question man came first, then man created God. This is what your religion teaches. If you answer the question God, then you are not answering according to Mormon doctrine.
This is a very fundamental question that the Mormon religion does not have an answer for, but the Bible has the answer:
The Bible says that God came first, and that God created man. God was never a man first.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
God created all things.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
God has no beginning because God is eternal.
Gen 21:33 And [Abraham] planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
Deu 33:27 The eternal God [is thy] refuge…
Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God.
God does not change. God did not evolve.
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Psa 102:27 But thou [art] the same, and thy years shall have no end.
Jam 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
This is a Fatal Flaw in the Mormon Church’s teaching.
How could the god of Mormonism be born into the universe that pre-existed him and yet be the creator of the universe?
The Mormons teach that when your god became a god the universe already existed. They also teach that their god is the creator. This is an irreconcilable difference that they have no answer for.
Your church has no answer for it because it does not make any sense and cannot be answered. It is never easy to be told that you are wrong. It is never easy to realize that you have been lied to and deceived for many years. Finding out that you have put your faith in a lie and in false teachers can be quite a shock. But please do not turn a deaf ear and just close your eyes to the truth. Please look into your religion with a desire and a prayer to see the truth.
